Tighter age bands with Health care reform
It’s been a long time since health reform debate is being carried out in the Washington. This reform debate is
going confusing as well as contagious as the time is passing by. There are many discussions and theories emerging
everyday as to what these reforms are all about and how they are getting boiled down to a central issue.
These reforms are not easy to implement and nearly everyone is winning in the quest of answering and addressing
about the continuous increase in the cost of the health increasing gradually. Now since no result is coming into
action hence the American people are getting fed with a diet of fake concepts which are very easy to understand and
actually are not proper truths. Debates are getting more intense with the nuisance on various trams related to
health care reform however they should have been more diverted towards the reforms between the patients and the
doctor.
The heartless and the greedy companies related to insurance sector are not bothering about the benefits of the
people and are leaving them to die unnecessarily.
The rates set by the insurance companies are judged on the base of risk that they have to face while providing the
insurance to the particular individual. Generally these rates are premium rates and are charged very high. For e.g.
you can consider the incident of a boy of 16 years old.
The auto insurance provided to this boy for a brand new car will b surely very high and if we put him in the
category of brand new Mustang, the premium rates will climb higher. Now as the boy grows in age and hold a clean
driving record, the price of this insurance will drop year by year. Now the health care reform mentions that the
health insurance made on a particular individual in the market act in the similar way just the fact that they are
reverse. The young adults possessed with good health get the health insurances made available for them with the
fact that the cost will go higher and higher as they will grow old.
There are states which have already set premium rates for these health insurances though most of the states lack
this system. Even if the individual never claims the insurance policy, the rates will go ion increasing to about
five times as compared to the initial amount which is just base on the increasing age of the individual. Many
policy holders are thus rubbed in a wrong way with this criterion. If a person has fallen in the age group of 50,
it is pretty obvious that the policy will cause him very high expenses as compared to the one he would have made in
early age.
The most common question being asked is that is this part the right thing to be done? Many arguments can rise on
this question and many answers will also come up but the truth is that the health care reform made for the benefit
of the people should be planned in such a way that everyone gets benefitted regardless of what age he is taking the
health insurance policy.
